The entrance foyer was cold and inhospitable as the automatic doors remained often open with movement of large numbers at busy times. We designed a triangular canopy with manual doors and a disabled access to the side. The roof was red and triangular to match the existing curtain wall panels (and the red logo). Due to the parameters of the existing curtain walling sections, the canopy extended as free standing beyond the points where we could fix back to the existing structure. This was a constraint of the design but added to the drama and dynamism of the structure.
